Jackie Robinson Day


Jackie Robinson day is celebrated on 15 April every year. Jackie Robinson was the first black major league baseball player. He was born on January 31,1919. He was died on October 24,1972 with a heart attack at his home. He was the first player who broke the baseball color line on his debut. He played his first match from Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. He was the only black player who played in major league of baseball since 1980s. He played six world series of baseball for the Dodgers and he was also the part of the team when they won the World championship in 1955. He was selected six time for the All star Games from 1949 to 1954. He won many awards in his career. He won the most valuable player of the league in 1949. He was also awarded as MLB Rookie of the year award in 1947. He was the first black person television analyst also after his career. He also work hard for the establishment of the Freedom National Bank.
All baseball league player wear the shirt of 42 number on this day to celebrate the Jackie Robinson day. 42 number was the Jackie Robinson shirt number during his career.
